Aere is operated by Aere Social Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16426010), with its registered office at 3rd Floor, 86-90 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NE. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy, and we are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) under registration number ZC002485.

What We Collect

Aere is a pre-launch product. We collect limited personal information for launch updates, marketing, and optional research purposes only.

Information you give us. Depending on how you sign up, we may collect:

  • First name (so we can personalise our communication)

  • Email address (to send you launch updates and relevant information)

  • WhatsApp number (optional), only if you choose to take part in feedback, early research, or community discussions about building Aere

Providing your WhatsApp number is completely optional. If you only want launch updates, you can sign up with just your first name and email.

Information collected when you visit our website. Like most websites, ours automatically collects some technical information, such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit, and your approximate location (country or city, based on your IP address). Some of this is collected through cookies. See our Cookie Policy for details.

We do not collect any sensitive or financial information, or your precise location.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Share updates about Aere’s progress and launch

  • Email you news and announcements

  • Reach out for optional feedback, interviews, or research (only if you’ve opted in)

  • Improve Aere and our website based on early user insights

  • Keep our website secure and working properly

If you give us your WhatsApp number, we will only use it to:

  • Contact you about feedback, research, or early access discussions related to Aere

  • Talk with you in a direct, conversational way during the product-building phase

We do not sell your personal data or share it with third parties for their own marketing.

Legal Basis for Processing (UK GDPR)

Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR), we rely on the following legal bases:

  • Launch updates and marketing emails: your consent, given when you sign up

  • WhatsApp research contact: your consent, given when you share your number

  • Analytics cookies: your consent, given through our cookie banner

  • Essential cookies and keeping the site secure: our legitimate interest in running a safe, working website

You can withdraw your consent at any time. This won’t affect anything we did before you withdrew it.

How We Store and Protect Your Data

Your data is stored securely using trusted tools and platforms. We take reasonable steps to protect your information from unauthorised access, loss, or misuse.

How long we keep your data. We keep your sign-up details until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. If you haven’t opened or engaged with our emails for 24 months, we’ll remove your details. If you opt in to research, we delete your WhatsApp number when the research phase ends, or 12 months after we last contacted you, whichever comes first. Website analytics data is held by Wix in line with its own retention settings.

International transfers. Some of our providers store or process data outside the UK, for example in the United States or the EU. Where this happens, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the UK’s adequacy regulations or standard data protection clauses approved for UK transfers.

You can request deletion of your data at any time (see “Your Rights” below).

Your Rights

You are always in control of your data. Under UK data protection law, you can:

  • Unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link in any email

  • Ask for a copy of the data we hold about you

  • Ask us to correct or delete your data

  • Object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use your data

  • Withdraw your consent, including for WhatsApp communication or cookies

  • Ask questions about how your information is used

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Third-Party Services and Cookies

We use a small number of trusted providers to run our website and communications:

  • Wix: website hosting, sign-up forms and website analytics

  • Brevo: sending our email updates. Brevo records whether emails are opened and which links are clicked, which helps us understand what’s useful to you.

  • WhatsApp: research conversations, only if you opt in

These providers only process your data on our instructions and are chosen for their compliance with privacy and security standards.
